چکیده
Corncob is a potential feedstock for biorefineries to produce cellulosic ethanol and other chemicals. Densifying lignocellulosic biomass with chemicals followed by autoclave (DLCA) has been confirmed an efficient economical pretreatment method, it was applied in the present work conversion of corncob bioethanol. The dosage sulfuric acid, solid loading biomass, time were investigated. Enzymatic hydrolysis at 25–35% solids loadings resulted 91–97% sugar conversions. Fermentation hydrolysates went well highest titer reaching 75.71 g/L 35% loading. Simultaneous saccharification co-fermentation further improve xylose consumption high enhanced 82.0 yield 21.67 kg/100 kg corncob. This study demonstrated DLCA provided highly digestible fermentable biorefinery.

Dilute Acid pretreatment of corncob for efficient sugar production.
Aqueous dilute acid pretreatments of corncob were conducted using cylindrical pressure vessels in an oil bath. Pretreatments were conducted in a temperature range of 160-190 °C with acid-solution-to-solid-corncob ratio of 2. The acid concentration (v/v) in the pretreatment solution was varied from 0% to 0.7%, depending on temperature. This gives acid charge on ovendry-weight corncob of 0-2.58%....

Bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass to bioethanol has shown environmental, economic and energetic advantages in comparison to bioethanol produced from sugar or starch. However, the pretreatment process for increasing the enzymatic accessibility and improving the digestibility of cellulose is hindered by many physical-chemical, structural and compositional factors, which make these material...

Ethanol production strategy was studied using multiple strain microbes from microwave irradiation (MI) pretreated sago waste. Sago waste (SW) was MI-pretreated for reducing sugars production using 2 heating media (water and sulfuric acid) under pretreatment conditions including MI power, pretreatment duration, and solid loading. When water was used, the pretreatment parameters were optimized us...
